I enjoyed it thuroughly

I can tell you put a lot of time into that. Very good choice of music, and it was psychedelic to say the least. I'd say what brought it all together though was the goatse reference. Good job.

Haroshi responds:

I'm sure if I had left the goatse hands out this movie would have been a disaster. :P

Thanks for the review.

Interesting First Episode

The voice acting was decent, though the script seemed a little wonky here and there ("just keep chopping goof-ball"). The animation was pretty good for the most part. I also thought the music was implemented well. The only real concern I have is - why didn't they just shoot the tree with that gun in the first place? If the gun so powerful that it can vaporize whatever it shoots (selectively though, since it didn't vaporize Specter as the tree was holding him), it seems like all the characters will ever have to do is go to a place, shoot the bad-guy, and repeat. I'd suggest putting some limitations on that gun to help in the audiences suspension of disbelief. Very stylish story though, and I'll be on the lookout for more.

OH NOES~!

You spoiled the beginning!

You've done well my child. You've done well.....

Man, I was confused

At first I thought Awesome Rising was going to be based off of that shitty X-box game, "Advent Rising" that no one played. Dead Rising is obviously a much better choice. Oh, and FFVII is the best game EVAR LOLZORZ@@!!!

(PM's ftw)

Not too shabby at all

Though I have seen better graphics in my day, you had some pretty good scene changes. That along with the musical timing made up for what was lacking in the drawing department. The story wasn't the most unique, but I'd imagine it was fun to make, so I can't blame you for animating it. I have a few suggestions for further work that would instantly help your graphics.

First, every color you used was extremely unsaturated, as it there wasn't much gray in it. Using bright reds, greens, blues, and so on make it look less professional. Life isn't as colorful as that, so when you're working in flash, find the color you want in the color mixer, and drag the little marker down half way, and saturate the color a bit. Secondly, characters with big heads, and arms, a dot for the nose, a pointed chin, and a small torso are over-done. Try to add a bit of your own style to it, and vary your line width. Bam, your graphics will look good immediately.

Hope the review helped. Keep up the good work.

P.S. - I've been animating for a while, but never really got the hang of synchronizing sound over a long period of time. What method did you use?

JunkFoodKing responds:

I've been perfecrting the anime style of mine for a bit. But, I do have an american style. Plus, isn't life better colorful when it's a cartoon? Thanks for the advice, though!

To synch sound over along period of time, I just import it, put it in a blank keyframe, and then drag the sound out by extending it with keyframes.

How about you make the screen smaller -

Because I love not being able to see anything that goes on. The line quality of your characters were shoddy, the voice acting was mediocre (but you did what you could so it's not too bad), and the volume changed from really soft to rediculously loud frequently. As others have stated, the whole fallen angels idea as been played out, and it's really not that cool and certainly not very original. I'm sure it's way too late to do any sort of story revision, so uh.... yeah, bummer. Good luck trying to pull this one off. Not terrible, but far from excellent. Try not to make the screen any smaller, because there's just no good god damn reason.

Wow....

I remember reviewing episode 1 a few years ago. I thought this was one of the worst movies I've seen in a while, until I went back and watched the other one again. You've definitely improved, at least at tracing other people's work and putting it out as your own. It's extremely obvious as to what's yours, and what's traced. I have some questions:

1. At what point in time did you think putting a blue guy in the movie would be cool? That's got to be one of the corniest things I've seen in my life. Oh god why?
2. Why the retarded naruto cross-over? I could go back and watch and find out myself, but I think I'd have a brain hemoraige before I could get past episode 2.
3. Why would go keep making episodes like this? Thank god this is the next one is the last, but god damn, 14 episodes of this? How did you go on?
4. Why 14 episodes? That's only 14 minutes out of 24 minutes. Having only 14 minutes is basically taking a shit on any reason and logic you once had to the story.
5. Do you realize that shooting a gun while doing stunts on a bike may actually be gayer than Elton John? (He's pretty gay, so that's a hard thing to do)

Some suggestions would be to learn to draw, learn to write a decent story that doesn't have blue people or cross-overs into pop anime, get better voice acting, and never, ever, release this final episode. Other than that, good job.

I'm being generous

At no point during this flash did you make anything that even remotely resemled a rational thought. Everyone who has watched this flash is now dumber for having seen it. I award you 1 points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

All Happy Gilmore quoting aside, that was horrible.
1. This is a Flash portal, not youTube.
2. Horrible sound effects.
3. Slapping yourself to wake yourself up in a movie is the lowest attempt at humor in the world. It's a proven fact.
4. The light saber battle was so bad, and such a cheesey attempt at humor, it could probably be punishable by death in some countries.

So, all in all, improve your graphical ability. Work on your style. Get better sound effects. Make your Violence better. Do things that are actually funny, and try to not suck at life. Other than that, good job.

Good Halo spoof

The Monitor was a bastard, and the Library level was the gayest thing since Elton John. When I played it back in the day all I could think of was how in the hell Bungie developers could consider getting killed every five seconds fun. I don't even know how I made myself beat it, because it was the most tedious and difficult thing ever (On Legendary. Also, Ninja Gaiden Hurricain Pack is harder, but at the time, Library was pretty damn hard.)

Anyways, as for the movie itself, it was pretty well animated and you drew the master cheif really well. You didn't have much background variety, but that's understandable. The monitor was also well done. The voice used for it almost sounded authentic. However, like that level, the movie got a little repetative. It was funny though, so it doesn't matter that much. Keep up the good work. Peace, I'm out.

Meh

If I wanted to watch Naruto fight scenes, I'd watch Naruto. You obviously took animations from the show and traced them poorly to put in your movie. For example, you most definitely ripped a fight animation from Rock Lee, as his fighting style is extremely unique and unmistakable.

As for the story, I have no idea whats going on but it seems vaguely similar to the other ongoing series on Newgrounds, "Xin". Your story doesn't seem to be very unique, and your art style and voice acting doesn't really make up for it.

You use the built in gradient filter way too often, and your style never remained very solid. For the most part it resembled DBZ, only not as well drawn. I don't expect it to be, but you need to perhaps develop a more unique style. That's just personal preference though.

It seems you put a lot of effort into this, however you need to start learning to do things based off of your own ideas and style. Also, stealinig fight scenes and basically claiming them as your own (you never state that you took the scenes from Naruto), is not cool at all. Try and take my advice. Peace, I'm out.

zeppelin-man responds:

For saying that I stole the Naruto fight scene is a bit harsh. Yes I did watch it frame by frame and mimic the movements form the japan imported video I bought.

Talkin' 'bout cream cheese sandwiches.
