I 'aint no god-damned son of a bitch

After watching and reviewing your fourth episode, I took it apon myself to view the previous three installments. Though they all differ greatly in artistic design, they all have the same style. I'll hand it to you. You've got a way with words that makes the dialogue very entertaining and funny. Like I said before, the animation isn't that great, but I suppose it really doesn't have to be amazing since it's not soely an action movie.

I have two suggestions. The first is that you find a style you like and stick with it. One episode has no dialogue at all, and has a completely different opening. One is a behind the scenes episode, another is a narration for most of it. The fourth seems to be the most concrete style that actually has the ability to have continuation. However, each episode has a different opening. Maybe stick with one to make each episode seem more like a series, rather than separate movies each loosley related to the other. It's cool how you have it now, but it's rather awkward to see a different type of movie each episode. My other suggestion is to record better audio tracks. The dialogue is very good, but sounds muffled and poppy.

Keep up the good work, and I assume you've heard the Misfits song with the same title as this episode. Peace, I'm out.

Yep, I knew the music immediately. I own the casket-box set. Even saw the video of the guy punching Danzig out in the back of a concert hall. Enough ramble...
Very constructive criticism! Yes, the fourth is far more solid than the others, and is much closer to what i want the series to look like. Unfortunately, I get less lazy with each episode, and as my style grows and changes, so does the look. However, #5 and #6 are direct continuations of the current story line, and should retain the same look, so long as I don't once again get distracted by my other projects. I think I've gotten the best sound I'm ever going to get on #4. My equipment sux and being an artist and a musician should give you an inkling about my finances. Thanks for the novella! Peace.

Much better than expected

I remember seeing the name Bonzaii Bunny before, but I had never watched it. With this being the first episode I've seen, I didn't really know what to expect. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be serious, a comedy, or some sort of mixture. It turned out to be pretty damn funny. The monologue of the one "Defender of the Natural Order" actually gave me the coveted -laugh out loud- effect.

Though the dialogue was most definitely funny, and there were some very nice backgrounds and special effects, the animation itself was pretty lacking. You cheated that one scene where you just see the read slashes and then enemies die. Other parts in the fight were sort of mediocre as well. As for the story line thus far, It's an interesting idea, and I'm interested to see how it plays out. I'm a bit disappointed that you pulled the cliffhanger at the end, because if you had actually made it into a complete episode, it would definitely have much higher score. Well, keep doing what you do, and maybe work on the animation a bit. I'll be looking forward to episode V, even though you have the next episodelisted as IV again. Peace, I'm out.

phredrawles responds:

Thanks. The red slashes are standard anime. I love that genre and even though this animation isn't anime, I add subtle elements here and there. As for the cliffhanger, I was closing in on 2MB which sucks for dial-up people, so I cut it short. As for the score, trust, I'm happy. A 3 makes me happy. I'm not hard to please. I'm fixing the 'Episode IV' thing now. I tell ya, look at something 20+ times and you start missing all the details....

Though not exactly original, it was still funny

There have been plenty of movies trying to inform viewers how to not get blammed, and this movie doesn't really bring much new to the table. However, the dialogue was very well done and was pretty funny. The graphics weren't great, and the voice acting was computer generated, so you'd think this wouldn't be that great of a movie. But thanks to the script, it was actually enjoyable. So, keep up the good work, and maybe move past animated pieces of fruit with clocks as faces, and set your standards higher. There's potential, all you've gotta do is tap it. Peace, I'm out.

Yeah I actually do writing on the side so my plots are generally good and humorous. Lollerskates actually tells me on a daily basis to give up the Locks, but I feel a strong loyalty to them. But maybe one day I should :/

Interesting concept

This is the first episode I've seen in the series, and I assume you recieved inspiration from the televison show "24". Just like the show, the idea of each episode passing in real time is cool.

The characters in the movie are sadly not drawn very well. By that I mean they aren't very proportionate, and you seem to rely on basic shapes for body parts. A cirlce for the head, a rectangle for the torso and limbs, with a few alterations for clothes and hair. The Animation is a tad choppy, and the action is extremely unbelievable. To jump into a door, knock it down, surf down the hallway, and shoot people dead with one shot may sound cool in concept, but there's just no way it's going to happen. Also, to dodge bullets while propelling yourself upward by shooting a shotgun downward, and then shooting people with the same shotgun without budging an inch is also a bit rediculous. If you can launch yourself in the air with a blast like that, you won't be able to fire it without blowing your shoulder out.

My suggestions are to improve your drawing skills, and perhaps work on your suspention of disbelief. That is, make me believe that what your main character does is humanly possible. Peace, I'm out.

I don't know man....

I guess you could call this "dark comedy", but I didn't find much comedy in it. I just saw a guy cutting a little girls face off and wear it as a mask. I'm trying to see what humor there is in that, but it's more disturbing than anything else. The graphics were fine, and the style was interesing. The sound wasn't bad either, but watching a guy cut a girls face off and wear it simply because she called him ugly just doesn't make me laugh. Call me crazy. Anyways, I'd have to say it's a well done movie, with a fucked up plot. Peace, I'm out.

Final-fucking-ly

It's about damn time you guys came out with a new College University. If you could write an episode that was seriously like 20-23 minutes long, you'd have an awesome television show on your hands. I'd say 30 minutes, but I'm sure FOX or what ever channel you are put on would add in a shitload of commercials. Anyways, it's incredible as usual, and the only advice I have for you is don't start to suck. That's not really possible since it's only gotten better as the series has progressed, so you're cash. Keep up the incredible work, and of course, make more. Preferably in the immediate future. Peace, I'm out.

Well done in every aspect

You had very good sound recording and effects, the voice acting didn't suck, it was done frame by frame for almost the entire thing, and the framerate seemed to be fairly high too, which makes it even more difficult to pull off. It was also pretty funny, which, as I say in other reviews, is extremely rare for newgrounds movies. Usually I'll get a slight chuckle out of a flash here and there, but this one was much better. Keep up the good work, and I'll look forward to seeing more of your shiznit. Peace, I'm out.

WTF? - in a good way

I saw this movie on the portal listing, and it was in the green. I usually don't watch movies in the green because I only spend a few minutes a day on NG, and don't have much time to watch all of the colored flashes. This movie however was an exception, because the title seemed pretty interesting. Though the art wasn't that great, it was still pretty good, and the animation wasn't amazing either. However, I found it to be genuinely funny, which is **extremely** rare for me on NG. Regardless of its flaws, I think this should probably have a higher score, so I suppose I'll give you a five. Keep up the good work, and try to improve your skills so that good art can compliment the good comedy. Peace, I'm out.

Interesting flash

Though this wasn't the most graphically intense movie, it was very well drawn. The story wasn't bad, but seemed a tad cliche(accent over the e). People for some reason come and take someones loved one and ruins their life. The taking the face thing sort of seemed like an excuse to make it easier to animate.

The Musical choices in the moive were good. Most of the time they fit the scene. One thing I noticed though is that in a few points you had a scene that would last way to long, focused on one thing, such as the main character simply walking. It made the movie longer which is good, but it also made it a tad more boring.

Also, the movie ended rather anti-climactically. I'm not sure who or what he faught at the end, but all it took was once slice and he was down for the count. I know it's hard to animate everything frame by frame, but you could have put a little more effort into the final showdown. It was a good movie none the less, and I'm glad you submitted it. Keep up the good work. Peace, I'm out.

Very well done.

The best thing I'd have to say about this movie is a tad unconventional. The best part of this movie is that Samus Aran (uh-ran 'emphasis on ran') didn't have a british accent. In almost every movie you ever see on newgrounds with only a few minor exceptions, the female voice actor puts on a retarded british accent to sound more "sophisticated". I don't care if they actually are british or not, I'm sick of hearing british accents (no offence to the UK, I'm just not into the BBC).

Anyways, as for the rest of the movie, you had very nice pseudo-3d effects, and a few other good effects. The voice acting in general was pretty good, and the animation was well done. The story was a tad rediculous, but that's what it was meant to be, so I'm fine with that. I didn't find it the funniest thing in the world, but it was comical to an extent. I'm sure others find it more funny than I did, and I'm not scoring it on personal preference. Anyways, I'll look forward to part 2, and until then, keep up the good work.

Talkin' 'bout cream cheese sandwiches.
