Meh

If I wanted to watch Naruto fight scenes, I'd watch Naruto. You obviously took animations from the show and traced them poorly to put in your movie. For example, you most definitely ripped a fight animation from Rock Lee, as his fighting style is extremely unique and unmistakable.

As for the story, I have no idea whats going on but it seems vaguely similar to the other ongoing series on Newgrounds, "Xin". Your story doesn't seem to be very unique, and your art style and voice acting doesn't really make up for it.

You use the built in gradient filter way too often, and your style never remained very solid. For the most part it resembled DBZ, only not as well drawn. I don't expect it to be, but you need to perhaps develop a more unique style. That's just personal preference though.

It seems you put a lot of effort into this, however you need to start learning to do things based off of your own ideas and style. Also, stealinig fight scenes and basically claiming them as your own (you never state that you took the scenes from Naruto), is not cool at all. Try and take my advice. Peace, I'm out.

zeppelin-man responds:

For saying that I stole the Naruto fight scene is a bit harsh. Yes I did watch it frame by frame and mimic the movements form the japan imported video I bought.

I 'aint no god-damned son of a bitch

After watching and reviewing your fourth episode, I took it apon myself to view the previous three installments. Though they all differ greatly in artistic design, they all have the same style. I'll hand it to you. You've got a way with words that makes the dialogue very entertaining and funny. Like I said before, the animation isn't that great, but I suppose it really doesn't have to be amazing since it's not soely an action movie.

I have two suggestions. The first is that you find a style you like and stick with it. One episode has no dialogue at all, and has a completely different opening. One is a behind the scenes episode, another is a narration for most of it. The fourth seems to be the most concrete style that actually has the ability to have continuation. However, each episode has a different opening. Maybe stick with one to make each episode seem more like a series, rather than separate movies each loosley related to the other. It's cool how you have it now, but it's rather awkward to see a different type of movie each episode. My other suggestion is to record better audio tracks. The dialogue is very good, but sounds muffled and poppy.

Keep up the good work, and I assume you've heard the Misfits song with the same title as this episode. Peace, I'm out.

phredrawles responds:

Yep, I knew the music immediately. I own the casket-box set. Even saw the video of the guy punching Danzig out in the back of a concert hall. Enough ramble...
Very constructive criticism! Yes, the fourth is far more solid than the others, and is much closer to what i want the series to look like. Unfortunately, I get less lazy with each episode, and as my style grows and changes, so does the look. However, #5 and #6 are direct continuations of the current story line, and should retain the same look, so long as I don't once again get distracted by my other projects. I think I've gotten the best sound I'm ever going to get on #4. My equipment sux and being an artist and a musician should give you an inkling about my finances. Thanks for the novella! Peace.

Much better than expected

I remember seeing the name Bonzaii Bunny before, but I had never watched it. With this being the first episode I've seen, I didn't really know what to expect. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be serious, a comedy, or some sort of mixture. It turned out to be pretty damn funny. The monologue of the one "Defender of the Natural Order" actually gave me the coveted -laugh out loud- effect.

Though the dialogue was most definitely funny, and there were some very nice backgrounds and special effects, the animation itself was pretty lacking. You cheated that one scene where you just see the read slashes and then enemies die. Other parts in the fight were sort of mediocre as well. As for the story line thus far, It's an interesting idea, and I'm interested to see how it plays out. I'm a bit disappointed that you pulled the cliffhanger at the end, because if you had actually made it into a complete episode, it would definitely have much higher score. Well, keep doing what you do, and maybe work on the animation a bit. I'll be looking forward to episode V, even though you have the next episodelisted as IV again. Peace, I'm out.

phredrawles responds:

Thanks. The red slashes are standard anime. I love that genre and even though this animation isn't anime, I add subtle elements here and there. As for the cliffhanger, I was closing in on 2MB which sucks for dial-up people, so I cut it short. As for the score, trust, I'm happy. A 3 makes me happy. I'm not hard to please. I'm fixing the 'Episode IV' thing now. I tell ya, look at something 20+ times and you start missing all the details....

Though not exactly original, it was still funny

There have been plenty of movies trying to inform viewers how to not get blammed, and this movie doesn't really bring much new to the table. However, the dialogue was very well done and was pretty funny. The graphics weren't great, and the voice acting was computer generated, so you'd think this wouldn't be that great of a movie. But thanks to the script, it was actually enjoyable. So, keep up the good work, and maybe move past animated pieces of fruit with clocks as faces, and set your standards higher. There's potential, all you've gotta do is tap it. Peace, I'm out.

JujubeLock responds:

Yeah I actually do writing on the side so my plots are generally good and humorous. Lollerskates actually tells me on a daily basis to give up the Locks, but I feel a strong loyalty to them. But maybe one day I should :/

Nickelodeon was pretty crazy.

I don't remember hearing this on Nickelodeon ever, so there is no nostalgic value to this movie. I think it may be one of the worst songs I've ever heard, and who ever wrote it should probably get curbed. However, the movie wasn't too bad. Not the best graphics but not the worst. The preloader didn't work right, but the movie went in sequence with the song pretty well. Over all I'd say not a bad effort at all. One thing however: Little Richards rendition of "Itsy Bitsy Spider" dominated everything back in the day. That and Eureka's Castle. Peace, I'm out.

cheshirepus responds:

I guess you can't expect everyone to like the same things, can you? I'm sorry you don't like the song. It'll grow on you if you give it a chance. But thank you anyway. Since you didn't even like it that much, I'm flattered that you gave it a 7.
Thank you.

Not too shabby

Well, when it ended I was a little let down that it was so short, but I then looked at the size of the movie. For 230kb that's a pretty well done movie. I haven't read what the other reviewers have said about its, but I personally find the plot to be a bit strange. Why would a man kill the person he loves, and more importantly, why would the chick still love him. I'm sure there's got to be some reason, but with the movie being so short, you haven't explained much, and I'm not a fan of plot holes. Either way, the movie was well done. Keep up the good work, and perhaps make a longer movie. Peace, I'm out.

Tacotown responds:

yesss i like my movies filesize-efficient. yeah i really don't have an explicit plot (my reply to Livecorpse sums it up). the editor thought it would be a good idea to leave the plot open and let the audience decide. for example, i never said the man(vampire) loved the girl or that the girl loved him back. that's -your- version of the story and what you thought was unique to you. i'm babblin now, thanks for the review.

Much Improved

I bought in and watched your old movie, and there is a great improvement from the last one. It's a lot better animated, and the characters look a lot better too. That being said, there were some things that struck me as odd.
For one thing, your main character "Jericho", had no ears. I'm sure you could argue that his funky-ass goggles were covering them up, that that would mean his ears are extremely small and in the wrong spot on his head. Also, as cool as it may seem in your head, doing a front flip and shooting people in the face in mid-air just doesn't seem believable.
What I think you guys should work on the most is character design, and try to get your guys to look a bit more realisitic. When I say realistic, I mean proportional to a normal human being. Also, work on voice a bit more, since there was very little in this installment, and the ones in the previouse sounded pretty bad. That's not to say that I didn't enjoy the movie though. It was cool, and entertaining. Keep up the good work, and try to follow some if not all my advice. Peace, I'm out.

jerricco-team responds:

I do argue that his ears are covered up by the goggles ;). And if you knew all the workings of "JERRICCO" (just so everyone knows, it's double "R" double "C") you'd see that the flip isn't unreallistic. There's a little foreshadowing for ya. And yeah..voices will be better and that old episode 1 is in the primitive stages of our skills, so feel free to laugh at it.
Thanks for the advice.

interesting

Doesn't there have to be a war before the final war for the final war to be the final war? Otherwise it would just be the first war. I mean it's like beggining with the end.

That aside, what you have looks pretty cool. I'm not sure what you were going for with the black and white shots, but they weren't too bad. The characters you have are interesting, but you should, along with many other people I've seen on NG, work on proportion. Most of the characters I saw in the movie had heads 3 times the normal size it should be. That doesn't mean they were all bad, but they looked a little off. Anyways, it looks pretty cool, and I'll check it out when it arrives.

XxXAgentBrakXxX responds:

Thanks for the review. About the whole Final War bit, it will make sense later on, but not right now.

As for the black and white bits, those were symbolic elements. Black and white represents a sense of danger or chaos.

Some people are douche-bags

this movie is stolen, i watched this movie about a year ago on joecartoon.com , dont steal movies

goonland responds:

Wrong. Go to Joe's site and take a closer look.

Funny Stuff

That was funny shit, and you chose a good movie to do, but I don't know how many more of these you can do before it starts becomming less funny. You can see that this movie was reviewed much lower than your previous movie dubbings. Maybe it's because of that Vivian chick though. She wasn't too amazing. You should just do the girl voices yourself like in Resident Evil, if that is, you're going to continue making these types of movies. In conclusion, very funny stuff, but perhaps a bit over used.

Knox responds:

nah, this one just sucked, they cant all be gold ya know!i shouldve chosen a better movie, but oh well! bye bye!

Talkin' 'bout cream cheese sandwiches.
